Halvorsen fabricates pressure vessels in many different shapes, sizes, widths and lengths. We often weld sections of cylinders and cones. The most frequent request from our customers is for the custom manufacture of pressure vessels fabricated from cylinders that use 2 endcaps or heads. The most important thing at Halvorsen is that we ensure that the pressure vessels we manufacture will be operated safely. Our customers trust that we are experts at fabricating safe pressure vessels based on the design code called the ASME BOILER and Pressure Vessel Code. The Halvorsen Company uses a wide range of pressure vessel quality (PVQ) steel plate to fabricate, manufacture and produce welded pressure vessels, boilers and other high pressure applications. The materials we use include PVQ516 (Grades 55, 60, 65, 70), ASTM A516-70 Plate, ASTM A387 / A387M, A-36/SA-36, SA-516-70/SA-516-70N, SA-514/SA-517, A516/70 and C-1045. The PVQ steel plates that we use can be normalized or stress relieved. We use PVQ steel because it can possesses excellent welding capabilities. The Halvorsen Company fabricates boilers and pressure vessels and their accompanying forgings with pressure vessel quality steels that also exhibit outstanding notch toughness.

We manufacture heavy-wall pressure vessels and boiler components using a number of different shapes and sections including spheres, cylinders, hemispherical, semi-elliptical or dished (torispherical) heads (end caps) and cones. The approved materials we use—such as high impact resistant steel and corrosion resistant carbon and stainless steel—to fabricate pressure vessels possess excellent tensile properties and are chemically stable for the required application and temperature range.

We manufacture cylindrical and spherical pressure vessels and weld rolled and forged parts together to produce a high degree of mechanical strength. The Halvorsen Company facilities are ideally suited for heavy steel and plate rolling. We can produce pressure vessels by hot forming or cold forming heavy steel or alloy plate into cylinders and then we use a variety of welding processes (SAW, GTAW, SMAW and GMAW) to fabricate the rest of the pressure vessel, process tank or boiler component. Our metal fabrication capabilities also include the ability to manufacturer nuclear reactor pressure vessels and tanks.

The Halvorsen Company designs, manufactures, tests and inspects ASME code pressure vessels, steam drums, storage tanks, autoclaves and boiler components for customers throughout the United States. We build extremely reliable closed containers that are designed to hold gases or liquids at a pressure substantially different from the ambient pressure.

We produce ASME code and non-code custom stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy pressure vessels, steam drums, ammonia tanks, scrubbers, separators, filter tanks, storage tanks, mixing tanks and process tanks to the precise requirements of our customers.

We provide industry leading pressure vessel engineering services. When our customers need custom fabricated process tanks, storage tanks and ASME code pressure vessels they rely upon The Halvorsen Company to fabricate these products to their exact specifications. We provide metallurgical consulting services and material selection consulting services to customers that require expertise in the application of high performance alloys.

We follow the ASME organization’s guidelines outlined in the revised and updated 2010 ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) in order to follow important safety design rules along with rules related to the construction, operation, testing and maintenance of pressure vessels, boilers, transport tanks, nuclear power plant components and other pressure systems.

We supply petrochemical manufacturers, paper and power industries, refineries, the military and other valued customers with products that are designed and built to their exact specifications. We are one of the most respected manufacturers and suppliers of stainless steel and carbon pressure vessels serving OEMs, custom equipment providers, oil and gas refining businesses and chemical manufacturers.

We specialize in constructing pressure vessels to comply with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Sect. I, Sect. VIII Div I and National Board “R” stamp. Our expertise in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) construction provides our customers with a high level of confidence in our ability to meet their most stringent requirements.

Our custom pressure vessel fabricating services supply diverse industries with vertical and horizontal pressure vessels, stainless steel pressure vessels, ASME certified and non-ASME certified pressure vessels, towers, storage tanks, ammonia tanks, boiler components, steam drums, deaerators, DOT transport vessels and autoclaves.

Our capabilities include pressure vessel plate processing and the design and fabrication of large diameter tanks weighing up to 75 tons. We fabricate pressure vessels and tanks that meet ASME standards from materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, nickel, Inconel®, Monel®and duplex stainless steel.

The Halvorsen Company is an experienced, customer focused manufacturer and producer of ASME-Code, Section VIII pressure vessels made in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 and Division 2.
