The Halvorsen Company provides custom precision large press brake forming (hot and cold) and bending up to 30’ long in addition to heavy steel plate fabrication services. Our CNC press brakes produce precisely formed custom parts and components.
Our experienced technicians specialize in heavy plate rolling, large CNC brake forming, heavy plate bending, nickel alloy plate fabrication, carbon alloy plate fabrication and heavy plate straightening. We are experts at rolling, forming, fabricating, section rolling, flattening, metal bending, machining, heavy weldments, grinding, polishing, cutting and NDE inspection of heavy plate components. We have the ability to provide documented CMM inspection on formed parts. Our facilities house a 2000 ton x 30′ press brake for the processing of large plates.

The Halvorsen Company uses extremely powerful hydraulic press brakes to bend very thick and heavy steel and other plate materials. Our heavy duty press brakes (brake presses or brakes) have the capacity to form and bend some of the heaviest steel used in heavy industrial applications. Brake forming is one of the oldest mechanical metal deformation process used in heavy industrial applications. We are AWSD 1.1 compliant, ISO 9000 compliant and API 650 compliant. Halvorsen’s press brake forming services are capable of forming and bending steel and alloy plates from 1/4” to 8” in thickness. The Halvorsen Company is one of largest press brake forming and plate rolling facilities in the Midwestern United States. We serve industries in Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, New York, Illinois, Kansas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and other Midwestern states.
Our press brake operators are experienced and dedicated to customer satisfaction. We operate numerous mechanical and hydraulic press brakes, one of which has a 2000 ton capacity. Our press brake facilities enable our technicians to accurately form steel and alloy plates into a variety of geometrical shapes and segments including, pipe clamps, heavy walled cylinders and cones, cylindrical segments, angles, single bend brackets, compound curves, knuckle segments, dished plates, rings, channels, eccentric cones and reducers, pipe clamps and special shapes. Most of the steel we bend and form using a press brake is an alloy containing mostly iron with carbon content between 0.2% and 2.1% although we also process high quality carbon steel and stainless steel.
The Halvorsen Company is uniquely equipped to handle our customer’s heavy brake forming requirements. We also provide custom long press brake forming services. The Halvorsen Company has been forming and bending steel since 1955. Our experience, heavy steel fabrication facilities and a wide variety of dies allow us to form many different types of components, segments and parts for our clients.
