Design, Engineering, CAD Drawings and Material Selection

The Halvorsen Company offers heavy steel plate and pressure vessel design and engineering services, along with CAD drawing and CAD design services. We provide our customers with material selection consulting services for their steel and alloy fabrication and pressure vessel construction projects. The Halvorsen Company is an experienced full service custom manufacturer of heavy steel plate fabrications and ASME pressure vessels with excellent mechanical engineering and design capabilities. Our firm also engineers and designs ASME code pressure vessels, shells and tanks in conjunction with our fabrication and manufacturing services.

Our engineers have years of experience with mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science and structural analysis. They use computer aided design to analyze and engineer pressure vessels, process tanks, boiler components, steel and alloy segments, rolled and welded cylinders and cones and many other parts and equipment that are fabricated from heavy plate steel.

Our steel fabrication business has extensive experience in reading and creating pressure vessel design drawings, modeling and analysis services. Our mechanical engineering design professionals have a long history of fabricating heavy steel plate components to ASME code. Our CAD design and pressure vessel engineering experts can provide support to your company for a wide variety of steel fabrication or pressure vessel construction projects. Our pressure vessel engineers specialize in ASME calculations for boiler design, process tank design and pressure vessel fabrication. We understand and comply with the ASME pressure vessel codes.

Our talented CAD designers can engineer high quality vertical pressure vessels, spherical pressure vessels or horizontal pressure vessels. Our mechanical engineers have the experience and ability to work within a broad framework of requirements. The Halvorsen Company engineers use a number of different computer aided design software programs including AutoCAD to evaluate pressure vessel wall thickness values, fatigue, component materials, fitness values and other factors to ensure the required performance, tolerances and structural integrity of the pressure vessels we fabricate. We also provide CAD design, CAD drawing and mechanical engineering services during fabrication projects for steam drums, storage tanks, autoclaves and components, ammonia tanks, scrubbers and separators, filter tanks, storage tanks and process tanks.

We offer our customers CAD design services for prototyping and preparing standard parts, segments, sections or heavy steel plate components for fabrication projects. Our engineers can help your company throughout the build to assure the exact tolerances that your steel fabrication or pressure vessel construction project requires.

Our engineers provide material selection consulting services. We are very familiar with material properties and how these relate to the fabrication techniques used to form, bend, cut, straighten and heat treat different types of metals and alloy steel.

We advise our customers on the best materials to use for their heavy steel plate fabrication or pressure vessel fabrication project. Materials that we process include stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper, brass, heat resistant alloy, corrosion resistant alloy, armor plate, non-ferrous steel, abrasion resistant alloy and chrome carbide overlay plates. Call us at 1-800-423-7080 to discuss your current project’s requirements or the factors that influence material selection.

The Halvorsen Company can work with your company’s CAD design or CAD drawing to custom fabricate pressure vessels from carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloys under Section VIII, Division 1, “U” stamp of the ASME Code. Along with pressure vessel design services and fabrication, we also provide pressure vessel repair services and can provide pressure vessel alteration services in accordance with The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessels Inspectors R Stamp.

If your company supplies our engineers with a CAD design or drawing, we will review it to help ensure that all ASME code requirements are met.
